Hello!
My Name is John Shelswell and I am a co-founder of smarteyes!
Born in Sudbury Ontario, I was 8 years old when we moved to Austria.
Going straight to school in new country with a new language was kind of
a "sink or swim" situation…….I chose to swim!
A decade after passing the exam for opticianry in Austria, my wife
and I came to Vancouver Island in 1991. I was very fortunate to be
able to continue following my passion - optics - and becoming a Licensed
Optician through the College Of Opticians Of BC.
